On black Friday I saw this Advent Calender on Hip2Save.com. I would have been able to get it for $16 or $19 shipped or something like that. I thought about doing it but decided it was too close to December and I wouldn't have it in time to use it. So I decided to make my own since it didn't look too complicated. Now I don't have a mantel so I had to find a place for it I decided the railing was the best idea which led me to using a garland as my base.
I found the little buckets at the Dollar Tree 3 for $1 and the fabric inside to "hide" the goodies were 4 small pieces I got from Walmart for $1 each.
From my mom I got the Garland, 3 small buckets, red ribbon and the large bucket (which is for Christmas Day). She purchased the garland, ribbon and the small buckets from the Dollar Tree as well, not sure where the big one came from so No idea on how much that cost.
My Total Cost (not including what my mom gave me) : $11
If I had purchased everything my ball park guess is it would have been about $15 total (cheaper than the original... and cuter if I do say so myself!)

Now I still plan on adding numbers to the buckets I'm just not sure how yet. I thought about writing it on with a marker but I'm worried about my sloppy handwriting messing them up lol. So then I was thinking Maybe we will make little tags to hang off each bucket.
Dylan and I headed out to his favorite store, Target, this morning. He absolutely loves all of the decorations they have hanging off the ceiling!
