The Most AMAZING Deal and Some Freebies in the Mail!

Tuesday in the mail I got my free bag of Green Mountain Coffee and Coffee Mug! That was just for liking them on facebook! I don't drink coffee but Alex does and he was so excited about it that he brewed up a pot as soon as we got it! I also got a coupon in the mail on Tuesday for a free bottle of Advil! So I went to rite aid and snatched that up! The rest of the stuff in the picture is from my recent Rite Aid Trip and you wont believe how much I spent!!
Bayer Contour USB Blood Glucose Meter $29.99 (reg $74.99)
(I'm not diabetic but my dad is so he's getting this lovely free meter)
$40/1 Coupon (from Rite Aid Nov. Video Values Coupon)
I was sure the cashier would change the value of the coupon to $29.99 but he didn't as its a rite aid coupon and they set the price lower than the coupon they put out. They even had a sign telling you that the coupon was available for $40 off next to the $29.99 sign! So I had an overage of $10.01 to spend!! Yippy lol.
Huggies Pure and Natural $8.99
$2.50/1 Coupon
Huggies Little Movers $8.99
$2.50/1 Coupon
Huggies Wipes $7.69
$1.50/1 Coupon

I also used a $5/$25 Rite Aid Coupon which I handed him first (so really I got 15.01 free)
Total: $5.10 (with tax)
I paid $4.00 in + Rewards
( I would have done $5 but they don't except the + Rewards for tax)
Paid: $1.10 in cash
Earned: $4.00 in + Rewards ($2 for each pack of diapers)

So I got 2 packs of Diapers, a $75 Glucose Meter, and a Refill of wipes for $1.10!!!! OMG Rite Aid I LOVE YOU!!!!!!

We also seem to go to at least 3 stores lol.

Target:
Nivea For Men 3 in one Body Wash/Shampoo/Shaving Cream $3.99
I used a $3/1 Coupon
(I could have gotten this free at Wallgreens but decided it wasn't worth it because I don't like Wallgreens lol and it would have been the only thing I got there)
2 bottles Similac Sensitive (the green and orange bottles) $3.86 each
I used 2 $3/1 Coupons
Total: 3.03 (with tax)
Savings: 12.21!! (The cashier was impressed lol)

Rite Aid:
2 packs of Nyquil 12 ct 2/$8
I used 2 $1.50/1 Coupons
Post It's $1.49
I used a $1/1 Coupon
Total: 5.61 (with tax)
Earned: $3 in Up Rewards

CVS:
Now I had to do this in 4 separate orders because I had Similac checks that were $5 each.
3 Cans Soy Isomil $5.89 each (regular price)
I used 1 $5 check on each can making them $0.89 each
1 Bottle of Alimentum $6.71 (on sale)
I used the last $5 check.
Total: $4.38

Total Spent : $13.02! And I earned the $3 in up rewards so it's like $10.02!! Now the one bottle of Alimentum is normally $10.79 alone!!
Saved: $44.18!!

Gavin asked me if I was proud of myself while I was taking the picture lol. I told him I sure am!!

More Deals!

No pictures again I bought too much to take pictures lol. I got some awesome deals tho today when I went Shopping.

At Price Chopper I got 4 boxes of cereal (2 Chocolate Cheerios and 2 Cinnamon Toast Crunch) for $2!! That's only $0.50 a box!!! And these are full size boxes, not the family size just regular but also not single serve. (Full Price $13.16)

At Target I got 2 packs of Oatmeal for $0.50 each and St Ives Body wash for $1.79 (Full Price $8.25)!

At CVS I got 2 packs of Mentos Gum and 2 Bottles of Glade Room Spray for $0.83 total (Full Price $11!)!!!

It was a bit crazy at Rite Aid there were so many good deals I wanted to get ... unfortunately I paid $7 more than I should have but all and all it was still an awesome deal! I got 4 things of Ziploc Bags (different sizes and types), 1 Pack Nyquil, 1 Pack Dayquil (of course the medicine was part of what got messed up and they wouldn't let me buy 4 again lol), Clearasil Face Wash, 3 Large Containers of Scope Mouth Wash, 1 Big pack of diapers (normally $20), 3 Packs of Kleenex Tissues all for $24 (Full price with out coupons would have been $82!!!)

So all in all i spent about $30 and saved almost $85!!!! Oh and I got a $10 check in the mail today for a survey thing I do about Dylan's growth so really I only spent $20 of my hard earned money!!

Addicted?

So I took my son's couponing with me this morning. My 6 yr old Gavin thinks I'm ridiculous.... I'm assuming Dylan (6 months old) feels the same although he can't say it lol.

We went to 6 stores ... that's a lot of in and out of the car with a baby! Man I feel like i worked out!

And here's what we got! I have pics this time lol. I'm bad at staying with my list tho I need to get better at that!

Yes it took 2 pictures!! Okay so here's what we got!

Store 1, Rite Aid:
John Frieda Awakening Shampoo $4.99
I used $2/1 Coupon
Paid: 2.99 + Tax
Earned: $1 in Up Rewards

Store 2, Target:
Huggies Diapers 36 ct $8.99
I used $3/1 mf Coupon and $2/1 Target Coupon
(3.99 for diapers?!?!? Crazy!)

Ortega Taco Seasoning 4 @ $0.69 each
I used 2 $1/2 Coupons

2 8oz Bricks of Market Pantry Cheese $1.75 Each
I used $1/2 Target Coupon

Halloween Pencils for Gavin's class (aka bribery to behave) $1 Each

They had some awesome clearance deals on kids clothes that I couldn't pass up!

For Dylan I got stuff for next summer
Swim Trunks $1.98
Tonka T-shirt $1.74
Plaid Shorts $2.48

For Gavin:
Baseball T-shirt $2.98
Plaid Button Up Shirt $1.98

Total: 20.41 + Tax

Store 3, CVS:
Okay I know do I really need more soda? Well I'm addicted to caffeine and I don't like coffee and its' a good price for name brand lol
15 Bottles of Pepsi Products $1 each
Candy Corn $0.99
Used $1/1 Coupon
I also had a coupon for $3/$15
Total: 11.70+ Tax and Bottle Deposit
(I thought I was getting $5 in ECB's but there was a limit of one I'm okay with that tho since I got that $3/$15 coupon from the magic red machine!)

Store 4, Wallgreens:
2 Oreo Fudge Creams $0.89 each
I used 2 $1/1 Coupons
(Now the girl did give me a bit of trouble about this but I asked her to just adjust it down and she did... but she did have to give me grief about it... this is why I like CVS and Rite Aid better I've had no issues there)
Fun Shape Bands (aka more bribery to be good) $1.99
(Not pictured because he already has them on his wrist lol)
Total: 1.99 + Tax

Store 5, Rite Aid:
(I had to go to a different one because the 1st didn't have Vicks Sinex)
3 Boxes of Vicks Sinex $4.99 Each
(I wanted 4 BUT NY State law only allowed me to buy 3 because otherwise I'm making cocaine not stocking up ... ridiculous!)
I used 3 $4/1 Coupons
And I used my $1 Up Rewards from when I bought my shampoo
Total: $1.97
Earned: $4.50 in Up Rewards
The cashier commented on what a great coupon that was!

Store 6, Price Chopper:
4 Select Harvest Soups BOGO $2.19
I used $1/2 PC Print Out Coupon
and $1/3 MF coupon
($0.59 each! Not too bad)
3 Chicken Helpers $1 each
I used $1.50/3 PC Print Out Coupon
and $.75/3 MF Coupon which was doubled up to $1
($.17 each)

I also got a HUGE boneless pork loin that was on sale for $1.99/lb and had the butcher chop it up in to 2 Roast and some chops. $18.89
(Not Pictured)
Sweet Baby Rays (sadly no coupon and not on sale but i needed it) $3.39
Total: 25.16 (no tax)

So my grand total for everything 64.22 ... Not too bad If you ask me!

Now my goal for the day was $35 ... BUT... I hadn't planed on the pork which was almost $20 and a good deal to fill up my freezer and I spent like $12 on clothes for the boys which also wasn't in the plan but too good to pass up ... So really if we don't count those I DID only spend like $32 lol.

Couponing Anyone?

So I decided to try couponing! Who doesn't want to save a buck?

I have always read Pamela Donnis' blog and have been amazed when she posts pictures of what she's gotten and how cheap it was! Like diapers for FREE!! Who doesn't want free diapers? So she made a post about Extreme Couponing I read it and was like well I think I can do this!

So first I read through Colin's Couponing 101 on Hip2Save and then I read The Krazy Coupon Lady's series 10 days to become a KCL.

After reading through both I started to set up my google reader with blogs like Pam suggested. I added the Krazy Coupon Lady and Hip 2 Save of course! I also searched for people who blog about the local grocery stores I shop at (Wegmans and Price Chopper) and added them to my reader.

I then set up my binder like The Krazy Coupon Lady Suggested and used her print outs to organize it. I called and got my subscription for the Sunday paper times 2. Sunday I got my papers clipped my coupons and organized them and was so excited I looked through to do some of my own match ups. Then I read the blogs I was following to find more!

Then I twisted my sisters arm Sunday night and made her go to CVS with me lol (I took her to practice driving first so it was a fair deal). And here's what I got ... sorry no pics!

I did 3 transactions:

1st:
Campbell's Chunky Soup were 4 for $5
I used 2 $1/2 Coupons
Total: $3
I had $2 in ECB's on my old card from when i was in high school that my mom actually uses now so I had to use these separate since it was a different card.
Paid: 25 cents a can.

2nd:
2 Colgate Total tooth paste at $2.99 each
I used one (wish i had 2) $1/1 coupon
1 8 Pack Mac 3 disposable razors on sale for $15
I used 1 $3/1 Coupon
1 Bag of Bach Candy Corn $0.99
I used 1 $1/1 coupon
Paid: $16.98 + Tax
Earned: 10.98 in ECB's ... I don't count those as a savings on this order although i know many people do but I'm not one to count my chicks before the eggs are hatched.

3rd:
Lipton Tea at 2/$6
9 2 liters of Pepsi at $1 Each
Quaker Instant Oatmeal 2/$5
Total before Coupons: $20
I used a CVS Coupon for $4/$20 purchase
and 2 $2/1 Coupons for the oatmeal
This brought my total to Total:$12
I rolled over my $10.98 from my ECB's from my previous purchase
I paid 1.02 +tax and bottle deposit for the soda
Earned: $7 in ECB's

The ECB's from the 3rd purchase we actually ended up going to a different CVS after we realized Rite Aid was closed(where I was planning on getting some candy) and got some candy
I think they were $4.99 a bag for Mars Fun Sized candy and I had 2 coupons which equaled about $4 (I don't remember the specifics) so I paid less than $4 a bag for the 3 bags.

Then Monday I went to Rite Aid because I really needed some Shampoo and they had some great deals. I did 2 Transactions there.
1st:
2 Bottles of John Freida Beautiful Brunet $4.99 each
I used 2 $2/1 Coupons
Paid: 6.78
Earned: $2 in rewards

2nd:
2 Bottles Gain Dish Soap $0.89 each
I used 2 $1/1 Coupons
2 Bottles Herbal Essence Shampoo 2/$5
I used 2 $1/1 Coupons
I used my $2 from the previous transaction
Paid: $0.78 +Tax

Sweet Success if you ask me!
